Illumination flares were fired in Al-Syal village in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside (west of the Euphrates), according to Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent.
Our correspondent said that the flares were fired in the area as Assad forces’ 4th Division was mobilizing its members following the clash that took place yesterday between it and the Self Defense Forces of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The clash broke out between Assad’s forces in Al-Syal area west of the Euphrates, and the SDF’s Self Defense Forces in Ash-Shafah town on the other side of the Euphrates River.
Our correspondent said that yesterday’s clashes were the heaviest between the two sides since they took over Deir Ezzor, as medium and heavy weapons were used, and about 13 RPG shells were fired.
The cause of the clashes between the two sides in Deir Ezzor is still unknown, but they coincided with clashes between Assad’s forces and the SDF in Qamishli.
