Yesterday, Russian warplanes intensively bombarded Deir Ezzor province by conducting more than 30 air raids on the Industrial, al-Oradi, al-Huwayqa neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor along with the village of Hatla north the city, amid fierce battles between ISIS and Assad-regime on multiple fronts in the province.
Yesterday at 6.00 am, ISIS launched an assault on Assad forces positioned at the Industrial neighborhood and al-Jafra, hitting their gatherings at the Industrial neighborhood with a massive VBIED. The group was also able to advance in the regime held Harabish neighborhood after heavy clashes.
Three civilians were martyred by a regime mortar shell that directly landed on the area of Marat in Deir Ezzor’s western countryside yesterday.
These battles come in light of a large-scale ISIS offensive on Deir Ezzor military airport that enabled the group to advance from different axis and forced the Assad-regime to deploy chlorine gas in an attempt to thwart the offensive and push ISIS back.
