Pro Assad regime news networks said that the so-called Syrian Tribes Forum started amidst austere security measures in the city of al-Mayadeen, eastern Deir Ezzor.
Assad regime’s military and political figures most prominently Major General Nizar al-Khudur the chief of the Deir Ezzor Military and Security Committee, Raed al-Ghadban a representative of the al-Baath Party, Feddel al-Najar the new governor of Deir Ezzor, and pro-Assad regime tribal dignitaries attended the forum.
The Assad regime has long been seeking to win loyalty of residents of Deir Ezzor by constantly meeting pro-Assad tribal dignitaries in the Assad-controlled areas.
