Local sources told Deir Ezzor 24 network that elders from the countryside of Al-Bukamal city, mostly from Al-Salhiyah village, have filed a complaint to officials of Assad’s forces against a military checkpoint in Al-Salhiyah town.
According to the sources, the checkpoint has been harassing residents, and imposing taxes on all the vehicles and goods passing through it.
The sources mentioned the names of some of the elders, who filed the complaint: Hussein al-Harsh, Saleh al-Harbi and Mohammed al-Muhawish, a secretary of the baath party in Al-Bukamal and its countryside.
The people are afraid that the checkpoint’s elements will retaliate against them if the officials of Assad’s forces did not take real measures against the practices of the checkpoint’s elements.
