People of Deir Ezzor are suffering from a severe shortage of fuel and domestic gas, and their suffering has been compounded by the arrival of winter and the urgent need for these essential materials.
Yesterday, Sunday 8-12-2019, Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent in Deir Ezzor city said that a large number of Deir Ezzor’s people gathered at al-Kura roundabout in Al-Joura neighborhood after being informed that gas cylinders will be distributed in the morning. They waited in lines for gas from 8 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. when a truck loaded with gas cylinders arrived and distributed a very few cylinders to a number people, who did not exceed 5% of all people waiting in lines, while the rest were dismissed on the pretext that the gas cylinders allocated for distribution had run out.
According to our correspondent, the price of the gas cylinder distributed by Assad regime in Deir Ezzor is 2800-3000 SYP, while on the black market it costs up to 4000 SYP. Gas cylinders are distributed to each family through what is known “smart cards”.
It is noteworthy that the national defense elements and Assad forces usually confiscate the fuel, oil products and domestic gas that are allocated for distribution in Deir Ezzor, and distribute them according to nepotism, favoritism.
