On Tuesday, December 1, 2020, a clash erupted between a group of the Assad forces’ 17th Division and another of the Aerial Intelligence near the building of the al-Jazeera University in Deir Ezzor. The clash injured a member of Aerial Intelligence.
The clash erupted due to a disagreement between both groups about sharing looted food. The disagreement developed into exchanging fire.
The Fifth Corps intervened to end the disagreement.
Clashes and disagreement between the Assad regime security branches and militias in Deir Ezzor increased remarkably over the recent weeks. The reason for the majority of such clashes is disagreement about sharing lootings.
