DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
A few days ago, the “fresh” rain-fed barley harvest season began in the governorates of Deir Ez-Zor, Al-Hasakah and Raqqa, according to what was reported by a DeirEzzor24 local reporter.
According to the reporter, the crop does not promise production that will cover its costs, as a result of the drought and lack of rain in the months of March and April, which affected some areas rather than others, where the average production per dunum was only 30 kg.
A segment of Deir Ezzor’s farmers depend on rain-fed agriculture for wheat and barley crops, the success of which depends on the amount of rain that irrigate the crops.
