A source told Deir Ezzor 24 network that Assad regime has begun imposing taxes on and pursuing some businessmen, merchants and contractors who are known for being loyal to it in Deir Ezzor by conducting a comprehensive security study of their families and properties.
The source confirmed that one of the businessmen pursued by Assad regime in Deir Ezzor is (Samir Mahjaa), a trader and entrepreneur who was responsible for raising food prices during the period of Daesh siege of Al-Joura and Al-Qusour neighborhoods at the time he was a partner of Issam Zahreddine.
He also noted that Assad regime is implementing the same policy it has pursued against Rami Makhlouf, on businessmen, merchants and contractors in Deir Ezzor in order to collect money from them at this time of sever economic crisis it is experiencing.
It is indicated that Assad regime is experiencing a deep economic crisis after the recent historic collapse of the Syrian pound due to Caesar Law, which prompted it to attack its loyal capitalists to collect money.
