The Palace of Justice in Hasakah Governorate resumed its work today, Sunday, after a hiatus of about 680 days, in a step aimed at gradually reactivating judicial services, amid challenges related to reorganizing the building and restoring the records and documents necessary to follow up on legal cases and transactions.

According to what was monitored by the correspondent of the «Al-Furat» network in Al-Hasakah, judicial files and documents were damaged or lost during the work stoppage period, which led to the unavailability of previous lawsuit files at the present time, which poses major challenges for the concerned authorities to resume judicial procedures and address the pending files.

A number of employees explained that the next stage will require rearranging available records and opening new files, in addition to establishing a clear mechanism for dealing with previous cases and transactions, in a way that ensures the preservation of the rights of their owners, and contributes to reducing the burdens on citizens whose transactions were disrupted throughout the court’s suspension period.

The Palace of Justice in Hasakah had been out of service following the fall of the previous regime, before being taken over by the Syrian Democratic Forces «SDF», according to the news, which led to the suspension of its judicial activity and the disruption of clients’ transactions throughout the past period.

The resumption of work at the Palace of Justice comes amid anticipation of the gradual return of judicial services, at a time when addressing the effects of lost documents and rebuilding previous records remain among the most prominent files that require solutions that ensure the continuity of judicial work and preserve the rights of litigants.
