The bulletin of the Directorate of Agriculture in Al-Hasakah Governorate, until October 29, 2024, showed a difference in the amounts of rainfall between areas of agricultural stability, with higher amounts recorded in a number of northern and northeastern regions, in an indicator that enhances hopes for improved agricultural conditions with the beginning of the rainy season.
According to the bulletin’s data, Al-Hasakah station recorded the highest amount of rainfall, reaching 46 mm, followed by Tal Brak with 45 mm, and Al-Arisha with 42 mm, while rainfall in Umm Madfa reached 36 mm, Mabrouka 35 mm, and Tal Tamr 34 mm.
Al-Darbasiyah and Abu Rasin also recorded 32 mm, Al-Shaddadi 30 mm, while the quantities recorded in Ras Al-Ain and Al-Hawl reached 28 mm.
Comparison with last season showed an improvement in rainfall amounts of varying proportions, which would contribute to raising the level of soil moisture and improving water reserves, which would reflect positively on the initial conditions for the growth of agricultural crops.
The governorate’s farmers are awaiting continued rainfall during the coming period, to secure the water needs of winter crops, especially wheat and barley, which constitute a fundamental pillar of agricultural production in Hasakah.
The continuity and distribution of rainfall during the upcoming phases of the season remain important factors in determining the chances of a successful agricultural season, improving production, and supporting the stability of agricultural activity in the governorate.
