The State Security Branch in Deir Ezzor arrested one of its members, Mahmoud Hussein, from the “Studies” Department dedicated to student affairs, a private source told the DeirEzzor24 network today.
On the other hand, one of our local reporters also said that the arrest of the officer took place after he sexually harassed a female student at the Faculty of Law in exchange for canceling a written report directed against her by the Student Affairs Authority.
After that, the student told her family about the incident, prompting them to attack the officer. However, a State Security patrol intervened, and both parties were transferred to the branch, after which it became clear that the officer had a black record of sexual harassment, as he had done the same to several female faculty students.
Cases of corruption, bribery, and legal violations prevail in the security branches of the Assad regime in Deir Ezzor due to the absolute authority that the Assad regime gives to its security branches.
