Yesterday, Tuesday, Assad’s forces, backed by Iranian militias and Russian warplanes, launched a military campaign against Daesh positions in the badiyah of Deir Ezzor, according to Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent.
Our correspondent said that the campaign focused on the area (Khashm al-Baghel) adjacent to the Valley (al-Didi) in the badiyah of Deir Ezzor in the south. It began with intensive raids from the Russian aircraft, followed by a ground attack on several axis by Assad forces supported by Brigade 73 and division 17, and groups of several Iranian militias.
The correspondent noted that dispite the intensive fire, the campaign failed according to some members of Assad’s forces who participated in the campaign, due to the rugged area where Daesh cells are holed up.
It is indicated that Daesh has intensified its attacks on Assad’s forces and the Iranian militias in Deir Ezzor, which pushed Assad regime at the Russian order to launch successive military campaigns against the group’s positions in Deir Ezzor, but nothing has come of these campaigns till now, due to the rugged terrain where the Organization has experience in fighting.
