A meeting was held between Colonel Derar Al-Shamlan, head of the Public Relations Department, and a number of dignitaries and notables from Deir Ezzor city, as part of strengthening communication with the local community and listening to the residents’ demands.
Colonel Al-Shamlan began the meeting by talking about the security status in the city, stressing the importance of enhancing trust between the security establishment and the local community, and working to bridge the gap left by the former regime, by establishing the principle of partnership with the people through the Public Relations Department, which contributes to supporting stability and consolidating community security.
During the meeting, a number of security and societal issues were discussed, where the attendees’ proposals and interventions were listened to, in addition to clarifying the measures taken to control the security situation in the city. The issue of removing some of the figures known as bullies “Shabiha” involved was also discussed, with emphasis on the fact that all files are dealt with in accordance with the approved legal frameworks.
At the end of the meeting, the attendees stressed the importance of continuing to hold these periodic meetings, which would enhance cooperation between the concerned authorities and members of society, and support civil peace and stability in the area.
