The security branches, headed by the Criminal Security, launched a joint campaign against the grain markets in the city of Deir Ezzor, arresting a number of merchants and confiscating a number of bags of wheat, according to the correspondent of DeirEzzor24 network.
Our correspondent said that the campaign targeted quantities of wheat that were not supplied to the Assad regime, and are sold on the black market, and among the markets that were raided was the grain market in the Salhiya neighborhood in the town of Hatla, northeast of Deir Ezzor.
It is noteworthy that the economic committee in the province, consisting of the provincial council, the party branch, the Directorate of Agriculture and the Farmers’ Union, instructed the heads of agricultural associations to provide the police command and the military and political security branches with daily reports of the quantities of grain supplied to the approved centers in the province.
The estimated quantity of grain for supply in the Assad regime-controlled areas in Deir Ezzor is 66 thousand tons of wheat.
