A group of residents of the town of Hatla, north-east of the city of Deir Ezzor, filed a complaint with the Assad regime that included the seizure of their lands by influential members of the Revolutionary Guard militia and the Baath Party, according to what a DeirEzzor24 network local reporter.
Our reporter said that 42 people from the town filed the complaint through their relatives residing within the town who have the right to dispose of their relatives’ property, cultivate it and benefit from it.
He added that influential members of the Revolutionary Guard militia and the Baath Party seized those lands under the pretext that their owners were displaced and residing outside the areas under the control of the Assad regime.
The Peasants’ Union had issued several letters certified by the Baath Party including the seizure of lands opposed to the Assad regime, especially in the towns of Al-Mariyah and Muhassan in the third irrigation sector in Deir Ezzor.
