The Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Raqqa intensified its inspection tours of markets and bakeries, coinciding with the approach of Eid al-Adha, as part of a plan aimed at regulating the movement of buying and selling, ensuring the stability of markets, and protecting consumers.
The inspection tours included markets and shops selling clothing, sweets and basic food items, with a focus on ensuring the quality, safety and suitability of products for consumption, in addition to verifying traders’ compliance with applicable laws and regulations, especially clear announcement of prices.
The inspection teams also conducted a tour of a number of bakeries in the eastern countryside of Raqqa, in addition to the reserve bakeries inside the city, where several violations were organized against some bakeries, including the lack of weight of a package of loaves of bread, the loaf not being well-baked as required, in addition to violations related to non-compliance with the instructions issued by the Ministry of Economy and Industry, and general hygiene conditions.
The Supply Control Directorate and the Materials Office in the Directorate stressed the importance of residents’ cooperation in reporting any supply violations, by sending complaints via email to the official page or calling the designated complaints number, which contributes to strengthening control and ensuring the protection of consumer rights.
