Violent clashes broke out last night on the Muayzilah axis in the Albukamal countryside, between the Revolutionary Guards militia points and smugglers, according to a reporter of the DeirEzzor24 network.
Our reporter said that the Revolutionary Guards militia points that extend from the town of Al-Salihiyah to Muayzilah towards the T2 station in the south, clashed with smuggling vehicles that work for parties that do not belong to them.
He added that the clashes continued for more than an hour after midnight, during which medium weapons and mortar shells were used, and resulted in the burning of one smugglers’ vehicle without any known deaths or injuries.
The Revolutionary Guards militia’s goal in targeting smuggling vehicles is to monopolize the road or obtain royalties and shares of smuggling profits.
It is noteworthy that the Maizeila – T2 axis is considered the most important desert smuggling route between Deir Ezzor province and Homs and Damascus provinces es, and is used to transport all types of petroleum derivatives (diesel and gasoline) in addition to tobacco, agricultural products and drugs.
