DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
Private sources revealed to the DeirEzzor24 network details of a scam operation described as the largest in areas controlled by the Assad regime in Deir Ezzor province.
The sources said that an Iraqi merchant, accompanied by a local merchant from the town of Al-Sayyal in Al-Bukamal countryside, east of Deir Ezzor, gained the trust of some livestock market merchants more than two years ago, and reached a deal with them to sell their livestock to the Iraqi merchant on the condition that he would pay them expensive amounts after a week.
The sources added that the total amount of fraud, according to some merchants, amounted to 12 billion and 700 million SYP, most of which belonged to merchants from the city of Al-Ashara in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
Other sources indicated that the Iraqi merchant is a partner of a commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard militia, as he was seen with him before. In addition, the Harakat Al-Nujaba militia took charge of the process of bringing “the sold” livestock into Iraqi territory.
The people of Deir Ezzor have fallen victim to several scam operations recently. They were scammed by fake US dollar exchange offices and fake companies in eastern Deir Ezzor two years ago, whose owners( such as Jassi A-Kathni) fled from the region.
