DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
Clashes between the SDF and the DeirEzzor Military Council have been ongoing since last night in different areas in Deir Ezzor province, on the background of the arrest of the DEMC general commander along with other commanders in Al-Hasakah at the hands of the SDF.
A number of activists have said that three members of the SDF-affiliated DEMC were killed and others were injured, in clashes that broke out in several areas of the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor. Among the dead were Muhammad Ahmed Al-Habab and Hamdan Ahmed Al-Fayyad from the town of Jadeed Akidat, east of Deir Ezzor.
Last night, SDF besieged the military headquarters of the Deir Ezzor Military Council, in the desert of the towns of Al-Kibar and Hawaij Al-Boumsaa in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, and took control of them later.
Furthermore, fighting with heavy weapons erupted between the DEMC and the SDF on the Deir Ezzor/Al-Sour road, which ended with the SDF besieging the Al-Sour district controlling all the Council’s headquarters there, and imposing a curfew.
On the other hand, sources told DeirEzzor24 Network that SDF took control of all the regiments of the DEMC, in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, after the council members withdrew from them and handed over their weapons and equipment, in addition to their control of the “Fedayeen” regiment of the DEMC near the village of Al Rabida, north of Deir Ezzor, after the withdrawal of the regiment elements.
It should be pointed out that members of the DEMC, along with groups of residents, blocked public roads in a number of towns in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, took control of the SDF checkpoints there, amid calls to arm the clansmen and confront the SDF.
