Al-Assad forces appointed Brigadier General “Youssef Hassan Habib” as commander of the Republican Guard in the eastern region, according to what Al-Assad forces announced.
The 104th Brigade of the Republican Guard is deployed in all the cities of the province and participates in militarization and smuggling operations. Its officers are also interested in investing agricultural lands with wheat, cotton and corn crops, especially in the town of Al-Mari’iya, adjacent to the military airport, the town of Al-Bu Amr and the city of Mohassan, which feeds on the third sector, according to the correspondent of DeirEzzor24 Network.
It is noteworthy that about a week ago, the Fourth Division expelled an officer with the rank of captain in the Republican Guard from the headquarters of his point in the town of Husseiniya for not cooperating with the Fourth Division in managing land smuggling operations.
The Republican Guard is considered an arm of the Fourth Division, as they share their affiliation with the brother of the head of the Assad regime, “Maher al-Assad.”
