DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
The Russian battalion responsible for protecting the Russian floating bridge that connects the two banks of the Euphrates River, east of Deir Ezzor, has been handed over to a battalion in the 17th Infantry Division of Assad’s forces, according to the correspondent of DeirEzzor24 Network.
He said that the battalion that was responsible for the bridge has been transferred to the city of Qamishli, which is the first significant Russian withdrawal from Deir Ezzor.
It withdrew all heavy equipment, including artillery, tanks and BMB vehicles.
The Russian forces began constructing the first military bridge on the Euphrates River to cross the Wagner militia towards the areas east of the Euphrates on September 28, 2017, and it was replaced several times as a result of the flooding of the Euphrates River until it took its final floating shape in mid-2019.
