Five people from the city of Mohassan, in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, drowned in the sea off the Italian coast, after being lost at sea 10 days ago.
It was found that among the dead were 3 children and two women, while the fate of more than 10 other people who were accompanying them is still unknown.
All the deceased were from the city of Mohassan, east of Deir Ezzor, and they were on a refugee trip to Europe across the Mediterranean, to get lost in the boat they had been boarding 10 days ago and died due to lack of food and water.
Tens of people from Deir Ezzor have died in the asylum journey to Europe since the beginning of this year, due to the dangers of the road, whether by land or sea.
