DeirEzzor24 exclusive report

Today, the 4th Division checkpoint stationed at the Panorama roundabout at the southern entrance to Deir Ezzor city confiscated a cargo of smuggled tobacco, according to the correspondent of DeirEzzor24 network.

Our correspondent said that the cargo consisted of cartons of “smoke” tobacco coming from the city of Al-Bukamal, east of Deir Ezzor, and its destination was the governorate of Damascus.

He added that it was loaded with a “Lman” passenger bus belonging to Al-Iman Company, and the officers confiscated the cargo and released the bus.

It is worth noting that the smuggling of tobacco from Iraq to Syria is widespread, carried out by merchants backed by militias and officials of the Assad regime.
