The Fourth Division checkpoint, stationed next to the Furat Al-Sham Hotel at the western entrance to the city of Deir Ezzor, confiscated today a Honda Inter car carrying goods estimated at 350 million Syrian pounds, according to the correspondent of DeirEzzor24 network.
Our correspondent said that the confiscation of the car came after the driver refused to pay a royalty to the checkpoint members, and told them that he had paid 11 million Syrian pounds for fees to the division’s checkpoint in the town of Masrab, west of Deir Ezzor, which led to the confiscation of the cargo, the confiscation of the car, and the transfer of the driver to the division’s security office.
He added that the cargo consisted of boxes of bananas, vegetable and animal ghee, sugar and oil, and it was covered with vegetables to avoid the fees of the Fourth Division’s barriers.
The Fourth Division, through its checkpoints deployed in Deir Ezzor, imposes special and high financial fees on goods and people entering Deir Ezzor.
