Two weeks ago, the Criminal Security Branch in Deir Ezzor arrested the head of the Roads Department in the Technical Services Directorate in Deir Ezzor, engineer “Akram Al-Aboud”, on corruption charges.
The correspondent of DeirEzzor24 network said that the arrest of “Al-Aboud” came at the behest of the governor of Deir Ezzor, “Fadhel Najjar”, on corruption charges that included transferring specific road projects to other places, in exchange for receiving large sums of money in addition to signing fake road project statements with companies and contractors, most notably “Firas Al-Madhhur”, the owner of a company. Al-Mazhur Contracting in cooperation with the mayors of the countryside.
It is noteworthy that “Al-Aboud” was born in the city of Deir Ezzor in 1969, a graduate of civil engineering from the University of Aleppo.
The governor of Deir Ezzor has recently been prosecuting “young” people within the state’s departments, on charges of corruption, despite the suspicious major deals and projects that are carried out with the blessing of senior figures in the Assad regime.
