An exclusive source told DeirEzzor24 network that a patrol of the Fourth Division chased a car belonging to a smoke smuggler affiliated with the National Defense Militia, this afternoon, near the village of Al-Salhiya in the Al-Bukamal countryside, east of Deir Ezzor, and was able to confiscate it.
The source added that the patrol fired at the car, which prompted the smugglers to leave it and flee towards the desert.
He stressed that the car’s load of tobacco is estimated at 10 million Syrian pounds, in addition to two “Kalashnikov” guns that were in the possession of the smugglers.
The smugglers affiliated with the National Defense Militia have removed their protection from Assad’s forces and Iranian militias, making their operations vulnerable to patrols and checkpoints by Assad’s forces and Iranian militias in Al-Bukamal.
