Patrols of Assad regime’s internal security forces removed and confiscated carts and stalls in Al-Wadi Street in al-Mayadeen, under the pretext that they block the street and cause traffic congestion.
The patrols imposed fines of 10,000 to 15,000 Syrian pounds on stall and cart owners, which was a blatant exercise aimed at harming people through their sources of livelihood.
Such exercises against poor people’s sources of livelihood are recurrent in the towns and villages of Deir Ezzor, with the aim of living off the backs of the poor.
