A source told Deir Ezzor 24 Network that the Assad regime’s Education Ministry sent specialized inspectors from Damascus to conduct an inventory for the School Books Directorate in Deir Ezzor.
The source added that the ministry sent the inspectors following reports about thefts and manipulation at the directorate.
The inspectors started the inventory at stores of the Second Industrial High School and seven outlets for selling books in the Deir Ezzor countryside.
Secondary, vocational and technical books are sold in all grades to students at an average rate of 13,500 Syrian Pounds per copy, and 200,000 books are more than the books needed by students of those grades in one academic year. Primary and middle school books are distributed for free.
