Sources told the Deir Ezzor 24 Network that Russia recruited 300 young men from Deir Ezzor to deploy them to areas controlled by the Assad forces and Iranian militias in east of the Euphrates.
The sources added that Russia will pay $200 dollars as a salary per fighter in addition to 90,000 Syrian pounds as a monthly allowance.
The sources emphasized that Russia will transport the new fighters to the town of Marrat, eastern Deir Ezzor on Thursday. After, Russia will start recruiting people from the east of the Euphrates areas in Deir Ezzor.
Russia has been trying to enhance its influence in areas adjacent to those the International Coalition forces are stationed in. This contributes to Russia’s constant efforts to preserve its outposts and impose a military and political weight in the east of the Euphrates.
