The Syrian Arab Red Crescent has stated on its official website that in co-operation with WFP, it has completed the distribution of 100 humanitarian food aid shipments to trapped civilians in the besieged neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor. SARC added that the amount of the distributed food assistance has reached 1700 tons.
The food items delivered to civilians included rice, beans, lentils, sugar, borgoul, salt and cocking oil, which were provided by WFP. In addition to 4.6 tons of medical items and medicines delivered by the World Health (WHO) and 33 MT of the ghee and tomato bulb supported by ICRC.
SARC recently distrusted one kg of butter to each family living in the besieged neighborhoods, in conjunction with the distribution of 800 grams of tomato bulb and other parcels containing other food items in order to ease the dire siege conditions civilians are undergoing.
