In recent days, several massacres have been perpetrated against civilians in Deir Ezzor. This includes the massacre of Al-Bukamal, the Bushamss massacre in western Deir Ezzor and the Harabish massacre. Civilians continue to face death at the hands of coalition, Assad, Russia and Iraqi aircraft. Daesh who continues to shell the besieged areas with artillery and mortar, also plays a role in those massacres.
Today, aircraft, believed to have been a coalition jet, carried out three strikes on the city of Al-Mayadin, the first of which hit a house in the Hamad Hospital street, and the second targeted the same target, wounding five civilians, including two women. The third air raid hit a residential building in the Arbain street, killing two children and wounding 8 other civilians. The airstrikes have resulted in a state of fear dominating the civilians and a state of confusion between the ranks of Daesh.
The areal bombing was not limited to the city of Al-Mayadin. Several positions near the Iraq-Syria border were targeted, in addition to several strikes on Daesh-held neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor, including the Kanamat, Humeidiyah, Huwayqah, Russhdiyah and Al-Omal.
Russian warplanes bombed the Oradi neighborhood today, killing eight civilians and wounding more than 30 others, most of whom were children and women.
Daesh participated in the killing of civilians today, after it attacked the besieged neighborhoods ( Al-Joura and Al-Qusour) with mortar, causing the death of four civilians, including children and an elderly.
After the horrific massacre in Al-Bukamal, some civilians began to leave their homes out of feat that they could be targeted by new indiscriminate airstrikes. This coincides with a state of fear dominating the locals and a state of anticipation of what is ahead amid intense airstrikes on Deir Ezzor. No one knows which city would survive upcoming massacres.
