The situation has recently deescalated in Deir Ezzor. The USA deployed reinforcements to the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor which was preceded by reports spread by Russia that the USA was willing to attack positions of Assad’s forces in the region, and that it was willing to capture more territory from Assad’s forces in the southeastern bank of the river, using SDF as ground forces.
The military reinforcements were sent to Conico gas field, Al Omar and Al Jafra oilfields. They consisted of military bridges, missiles and military vehicles and machines.
Assad’s forces have made several attempts to advance against SDF positions in the area extending from the outskirts of AlHusseiniyah to Khsam and Conico cas field in the east.
The regime withdrew many of its heavy equipment from Al Bukamal and its countryside last week, which coincided with reports that the IC had sent reinforcement to the areas located north of the Euphrates.
