D24 exclusive:
Sources for D24 network confirmed that the Iranian militias have withdrawn nearly 300 elements from their headquarters in Al-Mayadeen city and its countryside to military posts in the badiyahs of Al-Bukamal and Al-Mayadeen.
According to the sources, who preferred not to be named, Iran’s militias have told their elements that they had been redeployed to the badiyah to protect the cities of Deir Ezzor against any attacks by Daesh in the future.
The sources noted that the elements who were redeployed to the badiyah included elements from Al-Mayadeen city east of Deir Ezzor who joined the Revolutionary Guard militia in Deir Ezzor after signing settlements with the Iranians in Deir Ezzor countryside.
The sources also confirmed that the militias had reinforced their military presence in Ein Ali area in the badiyah of Al-Mayadeen city, and set up new military posts near Al-Rahba castle in Al-Mayadeen.
The withdrawal of the elements came after several attacks by Daesh elements on positions of the Iranian militias in Al-Bukamal and Al-Mayadeen countrysides in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
It is indicated that Daesh had launched previously a violent attack on positions of the Assad’s forces and the Iranian militias near Al-Syal town in Deir Ezzor countryside.
It is noteworthy that Daesh has been using the badiyah of Deir Ezzor as a springboard for launching military operations against the Iranian militias in the governorates of Deir Ezzor and Homs.
