Sources informed Deir Ezzor 24 network that military reinforcements belonging to the 5th Division of Assad’s forces arrived at Deir Ezzor military airport this afternoon, coming from their positions in Daraa province.
The sources noted that the main reason for these reinforcements is Daesh’s repeated attacks on Assad’s forces in the badiyah of Deir Ezzor, the most recent of which was the attack carried out the day before yesterday by the organization on military points in the vicinity of al-Sukhna, which resulted in the death and wounding of dozens of Assad forces elements.
The 5th Division reinforcements reached Deir Ezzor at a time there is fighting in the eastern Euphrates region in al-Raqqa countryside between the Turkish army and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) as part of the operation launched by Turkey under the name of “Peace spring”.
It is worth mentioning that the international Coalition’s aircrafts intensively overflew Deir Ezzor province at the same time the forces of the 5th Division reached Deir Ezzor.
