Deir Ezzor 24 network has learned from sources that 450 volunteers (fighters) of the Russian-backed Qaterji militia has finished a training course in recent days.
The sources noted that part of the group was sent to the fronts of Raqqa countryside and northern Syria, while the rest of them will be sent in the next few days to the north.
It is worth mentioning that Qaterji militia consists of the members who have signed settlement papers with Assad regime through mediation of figures and committees belonging to the regime, and that the period they spend in this militia is counted as part of the mandatory service in Assad army.
It is indicated that the Russian-backed Qaterji militia was initially formed to protect the oil installations in the areas controlled by Assad’s forces, but later, it started to attract the evaders and defectors of the military service and make them sign settlement papers with Assad regime and support his forces.
