The United States of America, through its Foreign Ministry, congratulated Al-Shaitat tribe in Deir Ezzor on the anniversary of their liberation from Daesh on 30-12-2017.
The United States congratulated the tribe through its Embassy Facebook account in Damascus, and said:
“The United States congratulates the people of the Shaitat tribe on the anniversary of their liberation from ISIS two years ago. We recognize the tremendous sacrifices of the Shaitat, who suffered a terrible massacre at the hands of ISIS in 2014. The United States remains firmly committed to working with all of the people of Deir al Zour to bring peace, prosperity, and stability to the region and to ensure that ISIS never returns.”
It is indicated that al-Shiatat tribe in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, suffered at the hands of Daesh one of the largest massacres carried out against the Syrian people, during which the organization killed hundreds of their women, children, youths and elderly, and displaced thousands of them to the badiyah, where it chased, tortured and killed many of them over months during the time it was controlling Deir Ezzor.
