Nawaf Ragheb al-Bashir, the leader of “Ousoud al-Ashiyer” militia that is affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, seized a 12-dunum agricultural land in Hawayej Diyab village (Shamiyah), local sources told Deir Ezzor 24 network.
The sources noted that most of the land seized by Al-Bashir belongs to his cousin Hajim al-Bashir, a member of Al-Baqara tribe, known for his opposition to Assad regime, and lives in Muheimidah town in the areas controlled by the “SDF”.
According to the sources, al-Bashir took part of the land he confiscated as a quarry to extract river gravel and sand which are used in construction, so that its returns will be for him.
It is indicated that Al-Bashir returned to Assad regime in early 2017, after spending several years with the Syrian opposition. Immediately after his return, Nawaf fell into the arms of the Iranians who have supported him to form a Shiite tribal militia.
