The General Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Deir Ezzor, in cooperation with a number of international organizations, continues to implement projects aimed at improving the status of water and sanitation services and raising the efficiency of the associated infrastructure.
In the drinking water sector, and in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, work is underway to install solar energy systems in the 17 April, Othmaniyah and Al Mraiyah water stations, with a total of 538 solar panels and a capacity of up to 385 kilowatts, which will contribute to supporting the continuity of operation of the stations and enhancing the efficiency of water services.
The works also include the maintenance of filters, filter elements, and chlorine and alum pumping sets, in addition to implementing coating works using food-grade epoxy, which enhances safety and quality conditions in drinking water facilities and plants.
In the sanitation sector, the company, in cooperation with PUI, began implementing a network of sewage lines with a total length of about 3,400 meters in employee neighborhoods, kanamat and Khasarat.
The works include the implementation of a 920-meter-long, 40-centimeter-diameter line, in addition to 1,250-meter-long branch lines and a 300-meter-long main line, as well as the construction of a number of new inspection rooms.
These projects come within the framework of efforts to improve the infrastructure of the water and sanitation sectors in Deir Ezzor, and enhance the sustainability of services provided to residents.
