The Deir Ezzor Military Council announced today, Saturday, the start of the project to rehabilitate the dirt bridge that connects the city of Deir Ezzor to the areas controlled by the SDF “east of the Euphrates”.
The SDF announcement of the rehabilitation of the bridge came in a statement delivered by “Nouri Al-Khalil”, the commander of the Deir Ezzor Military Council, in the presence of the Deir Ezzor Civil Council and representatives of the Internal Security Forces “Asayish”.
“Al-Khalil” confirmed that the goal of rehabilitating the bridge is to facilitate the movement of civilians, and ensure the entry of commercial goods and food supplies to the people of Deir Ezzor, which enhances economic movement and communication between the two banks of the river.
The SDF had blown up the aforementioned dirt bridge, after withdrawing from Deir Ezzor, and re-targeted it a few days ago, justifying this with “security reasons”.
