Makawi is a leader in the Revolutionary Guards militia, a Syrian from Hama province, in his forties, and is in charge of the Hamawiya groups in Al-Salihiyah, Mu’ayzilah, and the T2 station in Al-Bukamal countryside.

Makawi runs an ice factory invested in the Revolutionary Guards militia, and small shops (Nadwa) in the headquarters of the local militias in the Albukamal area, covering the needs of the elements for food, drinks, and types of tobacco.

Makawi is known for his strong relationship with Iranian pilgrims, his corruption among the elements, his offering bribes, inspecting the elements, and securing purchases from markets of all kinds.
