The Agricultural Bank in the city of Deir Ezzor announced the availability of cotton seeds of the “pure,” industrial, and born varieties, at the seed multiplication center, according to a DeirEzzor24 24 network local reporter.
Our reporter added that the bank allocated types (basic and registered) to specific people and subsidized agricultural associations at a price of 6,500 liras per kilo.
While farmers resort to buying the insect-resistant variety of seed (bitter) from the black market, coming from SDF-controlled areas, despite its high price, which exceeds 15,000 liras per kilogram (one dollar per kilogram), which can be increased according to supply and demand.
It should be pointed out that the Assad regime is still maintaining the price of the cotton crop according to last season’s price of one million Syrian pounds per ton.
