Two children sustained major injuries as a shell exploded near the Conoco gas plant. The children were playing in the place of the explosion.
The children are Khaled Muhammad al-Salameh al-Saho and Abd Muhammad al-Suday. The injury caused the children to have amputated legs. Such explosions are frequent from time to time, as the Russian forces and Assad militias planted a lot of landmines and explosive shells in the area.
The Conoco gas field is one of the largest gas fields in Deir Ezzor. The International Coalition protects the field that has been controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces since expelling Daesh from it in late 2017.
