The number of helicopters arriving from Hasakah to the regime-held pocket in Deir Ezzor has recently increased dramatically.
The number of helicopters arriving from Hasakah to Deir Ezzor has reached 12 helicopters since January 16, during which ISIS launched a large-scale offensive against the regime and made gains against it. The helicopters transport weaponry and militiamen from Hasakah to Deir Ezzor to provide the necessary support to the regime in the ongoing fierce clashes against ISIS on the vicinity of Al-Bughayliya in the western countryside, DeirEzzor 24 correspondent said.
He added ‘’ the regime had used Brigade 137 in Deir Ezzor as a landing zone for the helicopters arriving from Hasakah”. However, after recent ISIS advances, during which the group advanced and captured Al-Bughayliya, Aayash arms depots located near Brigade 137, the regime has turned the yard of the transportation directorate, situated on DeirEzzor-Damascus highway, into a landing field for the helicopters, as it is a safer place.”
It should be noted that Deir Ezzor province is currently witnessing fierce clashes between the Assad-regime and ISIS, coinciding with intensive Russian airstrikes on civilian targets focused mainly on the rural areas.
