The spread of lice in Deir Ezzor schools..a new crisis added to the families’ crises

Schools in Deir Ezzor province witnessed an infestation of lice, and the Education Directorate advised parents to return to combat it by primitive methods of washing the hair of the infected with white kerosene, instead of using medical shampoos, due to their high prices, as the price of the package reaches 11,000 SYP.

Under these circumstances, the United Nations organizations concerned with children’s affairs are standing by, while the health level of children in the governorate is witnessing a noticeable decline.

In this context, some NGOs are making timid and futile efforts, as Ghaith Developmental Organization has distributed expired and unusable homemade shampoo containers.edited
