During the past few days, members of the Al-Tanf border crossing Customs Secretariat thwarted several attempts to smuggle large quantities of tobacco , which were tightly hidden inside trucks and tanks coming from Iraqi territory.
The General Authority for Crossings and Customs explained that the seizures came as a result of careful follow-up and intensive inspections carried out by customs officers at the crossing , as part of efforts to combat smuggling, protect the national economy, and ensure the entry of goods in accordance with applicable regulations and laws.
The Authority added that the necessary customs seizures against violators have been organized, and legal procedures have been completed in accordance with applicable laws.
The General Authority of Crossings and Customs confirmed its continued strict control over the movement of trucks and goods through border crossings, and raising the level of readiness and auditing, which contributes to reducing smuggling operations, protecting the rights of the public treasury, and enhancing economic security.
