Today, SDF forces arrested an elderly man from al-Toub village in Deir Ezzor province as he was attempting to enter Assad’s forces-controlled areas through the river crossing, on charges of possessing a settlement card.
Most of those who underwent reconciliations were elderly, and their goal was to go back to their homes and lands, for fear of the policy of demographic change pursued by the Iranian militias, by taking possession of the people’s property.
The SDF had launched a campaign of raids earlier, targeting Al-Azbah area north of Deir Ezzor, which resulted in the arrest of a number of people who underwent settlement.
