Today, Friday, 1-11-2019, a U.S. military convoy arrived at the 113th Brigade site northwest of Deir Ezzor, Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent reported.
According to our correspondent, the military convoy included American military personnel and advisers, who identified points at the brigade’s site, and carried out a survey and photographing of the entire site.
The correspondent noted that there are information circulating in Deir Ezzor countryside, which is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the international coalition, that the Americans intend to turn the 113th Brigade site to a new U.S. base to be added to their bases in other areas east of the Euphrates river, where they are working to strengthen their presence.
These movements by U.S. forces in Deir Ezzor come against the backdrop of statement by the international coalition about redeploying its forces in Deir Ezzor to continue partnering with the SDF to defeat the remnants of Daesh and protect the vital infrastructure.
According to a senior official of the international coalition, the troops included elements of infantry, maneuvering and fire forces, whose primary task will be to protect oil resources east of the Euphrates River and prevent Assad, Daesh, and the Iranian militias from benefiting from them.
