DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
DeirEzzor24 network learned, from a private source, the disappearance of sums of money estimated at billions of Syrian pounds, provided by international organizations in the areas controlled by the Assad regime in Deir Ezzor, the International Cooperation Office in Deir Ezzor province and the Directorate of Agriculture.
According to the source, the cash amounts are financial compensation for agricultural fertilizer for the last season, provided to thousands of farmers from the Fao Organization, at a rate of 240 thousand pounds per farmer.
The source said that the International Cooperation Office in Deir Ezzor provincee, the Directorate of Agriculture and the “Al-Fouad” remittance office are responsible for the disappearance of large sums of money, noting that an average of only 10% of farmers received their money several months ago.
The source added, there is a new embezzlement operation with the participation of the Education Directorate, provided by the UNDP to students of the SDF-controlled areas examinations, as compensation for housing and transportation at a rate of 60,000 Syrian pounds per student, from which only dozens of students benefited and thousands were absent.
The embezzlement and theft of money is a phenomenon that is not new to the employees of the Assad regime, but rather they are operations that are coordinated and supported by officials in the Assad regime.
