The construction of the new bridge, which links between the Husseiniya with the Hawiqah neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city (which is supposed to serve as an alternative for the Iranian bridge), because of the accumlation of heavy materials on the river .This led to the blockage of the pipes placed in the width of the river, and the diversion of the river’s waters to other directions.
Accordingly, the clogged pipes at the ends of the bridge must be replaced with others with a diameter of 3 meters, due to the inaccurate and random studies that are not based on correct engineering and physical foundations in the construction of the bridge.
The construction of the bridge had stopped before that due to the rubble and the drift of the pipe. The construction was supervised by an engineer officer with the rank of captain and all the military personnel.18:23
