The Syrian Telecommunications Corporation has reconnected Raqqa Governorate to the National Telecommunications Network, after completing the operation of the optical path extending from Aleppo through the areas of Debsi Afnan and Tabqa, all the way to Raqqa and Al-Jazra and then Deir Ezzor, which constitutes an important step towards restoring the communications infrastructure in the governorate after years of interruption.
The operation of the new route is expected to contribute to improving the quality of communications and internet services and increasing network stability, as well as enhancing electronic connectivity between government and service institutions in Raqqa and the rest of the Syrian governorates.
Citizens believe that this step may open the way for reactivating many government services related to central communications networks, including the Civil Status, Passports and Land Registry departments, which would facilitate the completion of official transactions and reduce the burdens on residents who have suffered for years from the disruption of a number of basic services.
